Valuer - Residential Capital Markets - London

Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a full time Valuer to join the Residential Capital Markets (RCM) team based in our head office at Margaret Street, W1. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team of approximately 40; comprising valuers, agents, financial analysts and consultants. The team deal in large scale student and private rented sectors including Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and multifamily assets. The immediate team includes approximately five valuers who work closely with the wider valuation team which encompasses over 400 valuers UK wide.

The vast majority of time will be spent liaising with clients and undertaking desktop and formal Red Book valuations. Reports will be produced on behalf of a mix of clients including specialist funds, developers, financial institutions and private high net worth individuals. Assets will include existing PBSA and multifamily investments and operational properties, developments and portfolios. As part of a market facing team the valuer has access to the agents and their up to the minute transactional data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking Red Book valuations from start to finish for assets based predominantly within the UK
  • Carrying out comprehensive property, market and legal due diligence enquiries
  • Managing and mentoring more junior staff, reporting to clients and senior colleagues
  • Business development from international and local clients
  • Client care for existing clients

Candidate Profile:

  • MRICS qualified Registered Valuer
  • Experience writing valuation reports, preferably in the multifamily sector however good commercial or residential development valuers are very much encouraged to apply
  • Proficient in valuation software and cash flows, specifically with MS Excel, Argus Investor and Developer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strategic approach to problem solving
  • A desire to progress and generate new business within the multifamily market worldwide
  • Full clean driving licence
