Food & Farming Consultant - East Anglia

Job Description:

The Savills Food & Farming team are expanding their team in East Anglia and are seeking to appoint two experienced consultants to work with a diverse range of farming clients. The team manage in-hand and contract farmed businesses and provide consultancy advice to a range of farmers, private clients and investors.

In addition to the day to day farm business management, the successful candidates will need to be adaptable to the rapidly changing industry and will be involved in business re-structuring exercises, the application and implementation of grant funded projects and should be able to promote new ideas to businesses whom are looking to develop and secure their long term future.

The roles represent an exciting and significant opportunity for consultants with experience to take responsibility for servicing an established portfolio, whilst taking a key role in developing existing and securing new business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building strong relationships of trust and understanding with a diverse client base.
  • Setting objectives with the clients and rigorously working to deliver and perform at or above these levels.
  • Take an active role in driving the performance and growth of the Food & Farming business as a key part of the wider Savills network.

  • Responsibility for Farm Management and Consultancy activities on behalf of retained clients, to include supervising/instructing employees or contractors.
  • Reporting to clients, preparing financial budgets, cash flows and monitoring performance.
  • Preparation of annual management reports and reporting these to clients and other professional advisors.
  • Completion of Basic Payment Scheme claims and ensuring Cross Compliance regulations are met.
  • Preparation, submission and implementation of grant and environmental scheme applications as appropriate.
  • Actively lead business development opportunities for the office and provide support at Regional (Eastern) and National (UK) level.
  • Support the Heads of Department and Discipline in the performance management of the Food & Farming department in line with the firms Key Performance Indicators.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the skills and experience of the post holder.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organisation and with clients

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a substantial workload
  • Reliable, efficient and conscientious
  • Must understand the principles and practice of client care
