Operational Compliance Manager - Manchester

Job Description:

The purpose of the role is to support the safety team in providing technical health and safety advice and auditing services within the managed assets of PM.

The function has the following main elements:

  • Provide technical health and safety support to SMR site based employees
  • Liaise with the Midlands and northern region FM ADRFM and coordinators
  • Provide support to the H&S Director and Manager in the provision of KPI client reporting
  • Identify key learning and improvement opportunities
  • Regularly review compliance over all data systems for clients, producing reports as per objectives.
  • Carry out operational risk audits of sites as required
  • Carry out due diligence audits of sites as required
  • Carry out accident investigations if required
  • Provide clear process and procedures on the transference, mobilisation and escalation of data with
  • Property Management clients onto the relevant client system working with the procurement and mobilisation teams.
  • Providing clear process and procedure on the outgoing property data to new managing agents
  • Linking data with e-logbooks, MRI, to ensure a consistent approach
  • Providing trend analysis for the RFM and surveyor network
  • Determine regular report data and support the Support Service team on provision of these report
  • Provide support in pitch documentation and demonstrations
  • Act as a link between Quantum, QC on required development and improvements.
  • Act as a link with procurement team and business systems to make sure that the mobilisation and procurement team are aligning strategies.

The  role needs to be based in Manchester, as part of the health and safety team.

Working closely with the members that provide the compliance element of the department, the H&S coordinators, and across service lines to identify and improve the overall safety culture within the division.

The candidate should be flexible to travel throughout the UK as it will involve client and site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor compliance across our systems and client specific systems.
  • Track and report on progress of the region and sector allocated
  • Attend sector and regional meetings
  • Attend client meetings as required
  • Work with the H&S coordinator on compliance issues
  • Liaise with accredited consultants regarding key findings and quality
  • Assist other elements of compliance where necessary (ie environmental, waste, contractors)
  • Acting as a central project hub for key strategy events, pulling together outputs from other service lines
  • Tracking performance of contractors working closely with procurement to assist the h&S Mgr.
  • Provide other service lines with support as required and other ad hoc duties such as data management, client reporting, troubleshooting, assistant with queries from other services.
  • Contribution to the overall communications piece.

Candidate Profile:

  • An outgoing, friendly, approachable personality with great people skills, able to facilitate a multi-faceted complex series of tasks
  • An autonomous individual with a lot of self-drive able to complete tasks fully
  • Have a clear understanding of risk assessments and auditing needs
  • Be aware of root cause analysis and the requirement of continuous improvement
  • Excellent keyboard and data skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Training facilitator
  • Passionate about the subject
  • Highly motivated with excellent time management.
  • Required:
  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Diploma or equivalent (demonstration of working towards)
  • Experience in ISO auditing
  • Experience in property management
  • Demonstration of accreditation of relevant technical memberships such as IOSH, BIFM, IIRSM, IFE
  • Working knowledge of the safety industry with property management, FM, retail or residential experience
  • Desired but not essential:
  • Competency courses in water, fire, asbestos
  • Accredited auditing course
  • Residential management experience
  • Compliance focused
  • Experience in delivering both assessments and audits
