Valuer - Housing Valuation - Haywards Heath

Job Description:

An opportunity exists for a RICS Registered Valuer to join the Housing Valuation team based in our Haywards Heath office. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, which is one of the leading advisors of Housing Associations and Lenders on all aspects of portfolio valuation within the affordable housing sector.  The position may suit those with residential valuation and survey experience.

The successful candidate will be a fee earner with responsibility for their own jobs from start to finish. The portfolio valuation process involves property inspections, client liaison, comparables research, data analysis, preparation of valuations, reporting to clients and attending meetings as required.  It is advantageous to have knowledge of discounted cash flow models and understand the assumptions adopted in complex investment valuations and research, though training will be provided.

The candidate will look to develop client relationships and win new business for the team through networking and attending housing conferences. The candidate should enjoy working in a team environment with opportunities to advance their career and will work closely with colleagues within the Division and in other offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake valuation instructions independently
  • Report to clients
  • Liaise with sub-contractors regarding inspections and market research
  • Maintain and develop client relationships by telephone contact, e-mail and regular meetings and client entertainment
  • Attend team and office meetings
  • Win additional work for the team
  • Adopt a ‘big picture’ approach, cross-selling wider Housing and Healthcare professional services

In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.

Candidate Profile:

  • MRICS qualified
  • Able to undertake portfolio valuations
  • Good knowledge of the residential valuation process and the RICS Red Book
  • Strong verbal, numerical, research and report writing skills
  • Analytical and strategic to problem solving, with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently, well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, well organised with good initiative
  • A highly motivated individual and team player
  • Ability to generate new business once established
  • Proficient in valuation software and cash flows, specifically with MS Excel
  • Individuals with residential valuation/survey experience are very much encouraged to apply

Salary Details

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with skills and experience
