Associate/Associate Director - Development Surveyor - Sevenoaks

Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen for a bright, ambitious and qualified Associate/Associate Director to join the well established development team based in the South East. This is a successful and expanding team specialising  in development consultancy on large complex mixed use sites, ‘Red Book’ valuations for Loan Security, Expert Witness, Taxation and Accounts purposes and the acquisition/disposal of sites for development and commercial opportunities. Working across the Savills business including New Homes, Planning and Capital Markets, it is key that this person will have a strong interest in growing the business, including managing client relationships and building a professional contacts network.

We are looking for someone who has the capability to manage a varied workload and be able to co-ordinate junior staff members is essential. We are looking for someone who is confident, commercial focussed and enjoys engaging with clients.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of 15, working closely with 3 Directors, 2 Associate Directors, 1 Associate, 5 Graduates and 2 Secretaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing advice to both private and public sector clients
  • Undertake ‘Red Book’ valuations in accordance with RICS Code of Practice
  • Supporting the disposal and acquisition of commercial and residential sites across the South East
  • Support pitches, targeting and winning new business and agreeing the scope of instructions / fees
  • Point of contact for clients and management of client relations
  • Liaison with all departments within Savills
  • Have an entrepreneurial outlook and always be mindful of opportunities to improve client service
  • Able to work independently but strong team working skills are also essential
  • Develop and maintain active communication both within the Sevenoaks Development team and the wider Savills business.

Candidate Profile:

  • MRICS (Minimum 2 years post qualification)
  • Strong knowledge of the development process
  • Strong knowledge of industry news and market developments
  • Network of professional contacts, with the ability to generate new instructions
  • Ability to manage several projects at once – organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, displaying energy, drive and commitment
  • A team player, both within the immediate team and wider Savills business.
  • Attention to detail and well organised
  • Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a strategic approach to problem solving
  • Computer literate, particularly Excel and Argus Developer/Valuation
