Trainee IT Project Manager - IT Department, Finsbury Circus

Job Description:

The Trainee IT Project Manager will work closely with senior Project Managers. Duties will include all aspects of facilitating a project: scheduling meeting times and locations, taking meeting minutes, developing presentations, and arranging training for project staff. In addition, Trainee IT Project Manager participates in budget administration, providing analysis, keeping records, and forecasting financial performance.

The main purpose of the role will be to facilitate the programme of Office Projects for the Company with the support of a senior Project Manager. The successful candidate will receive 2 years extensive Project Management Training as part of our Apprentice Scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination of Project meetings including minute taking for key projects
  • Administration of the Cross-charging for the IT Projects
  • Attending various client sites
  • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior project manager
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
  • Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders on the progress of the project

  • Excellent level of written English
  • Polite telephone manner
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level of proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to get on with others and be a team-player
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively
  • Driven and confident of working in a fast paced, high pressured environment
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance
  • Good organisational skills
  • Flexible approach and keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability
  • Must be willing to travel during office hours
