Bookkepper/Accounts Assistant - Wimborne

Job Description:

To provide a full bookkeeping service for a portfolio of Clients within our service charge sector, liaising with Savills’ property managers and staff to meet varying requirements & feed into formal accounts production.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a bookkeeper to join a busy team in the Client Accounting department based in Wimborne, on a permanent basis, due to the successful acquisition of new work for an existing client. 

  • Manage and process all aspects of the book keeping requirements for a portfolio of clients. This will include raising and sending demands, maintaining up-to-date occupant details, bank reconciliations, processing supplier payments, including allocation of correct VAT coding, and some monthly reporting.
  • Liaise with Savills and client property managers, leaseholders and suppliers; dealing with any queries, maintaining a polite and professional manner at all times.
  • In addition to the tasks described above, you may be expected to carry out other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.

Candidate Profile:

  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Some financial background, either by experience or academic
  • Experience in property/ Estate secretarial work a bonus
  • Attention to detail and highly numerate
  • Familiarity with the different VAT rates & an understanding of their implication on clients’ recovery
  • Ability to prioritise & manage own workload
  • “Can Do” attitude
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work to deadlines and to be adaptable to change
  • Enthusiasm to provide the highest quality service to clients at all times
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexibly, providing cover for colleagues when required
  • Computer literate with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel to perform required tasks.  Access database also in daily use
