Project Manager / Surveyor - Margaret Street

Job Description:

To join an established West End based project management team working from our global H.Q. offices, located at 33 Margaret Street.

Our successful and growing team is 5 strong and principally specialises in the project management of commercial refurbishments and fit outs for developer, investor, landlord and end user occupier clients.    Typical project sizes range from £1m to £20m in value.  The team is an integral part of the wider London Project Management service line which is made up of twenty one project managers across three teams in the City and West End.

Our client base and projects are varied, often secured through cross selling within the broad Savills business divisions, repeat clients and external referrals / competitive pursuit.  We pride ourselves in winning and delivering quality projects for quality clients. 

Opportunities will also be available within the wider London Project Management offering to undertake project management instructions in other market sectors including hotels, retail and  leisure, education and healthcare.

The existing team is made up of three Directors, one Associate and one Project Manager / Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our Director led project delivery philosophy and assist in the day to day running of multiple projects, with increasing ownership and responsibility
  • Demonstrate ability to work on own initiate and pre-empt decisions and actions
  • Contribute to client pitches, business development, strategy and presentations
  • Seek and integrate inputs from other divisions within Savills to best service the client and assist in delivery of the project
  • Build strong working relationships with existing clients and other service providers
  • Help to source and secure new clients
  • Utilising internal Savills contacts identify potential new instructions and identifying opportunities for cross selling across the business
  • Attend internal and external networking events to enhance individual / team profile and market presence
  • Input and integrate into the existing team
  • Provide assistance to other departments and professionals within the office and support Savills business development  wherever possible
  • Develop and maintain active communication both within your team and other Savills’ teams
  • Develop and maintain good internal contacts within Savills London teams
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the Savills business in order to best promote the company and cross sell other services

Candidate Profile:

  • Professional qualification, ideally RICS (1-3 years PQE to Associate level)
  • Other project management, engineering or architectural qualifications will also be considered)
  • Demonstrable track record delivering successful projects across a broad range and size, either in a leading or support capacity
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • Ideally experience delivering projects in commercial office sector but with a broader horizon to work across other sectors
  • Experience of pitching and winning new business instructions
  • High attention to detail, well organised with good initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Able to present confidently  internally and externally
  • A team player
  • A desire to progress and generate new business through individual and team pursuit
  • Strategic approach to problem solving
  • Highly motivated, proactive and a ‘can do’ attitude
