Savills takes a considered and structured approach to managing its environmental impacts. We have a strong commitment to the prevention of pollution, adhering to all environmental legislation and to engendering continuous improvement, to achieve progress in environmental performance.
Our Group Environmental Policy sets out our approach to achieving our environmental objectives, and the responsibilities of the Group and its operating companies.
Within Savills (UK) Ltd we have a Sustainability Roadmap which tracks our progress against key corporate sustainability targets, reviewed annually. The targets cover objectives regarding green house gas (GHG) emission reporting, energy audits, an EPC strategy, minimum energy performance standards, energy efficiency, waste management and recycling, internal sustainability communications and sustainability training. The Sustainability Manager assists in the delivery of many of Savills corporate targets.
The Savills Sustainability Working Group involves UK board level members and provides a framework for the setting and review of the targets and UK Policy.
We have achieved the environmental management standard BS EN ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management) within the majority of the UK offices. We have encouraged this to be adopted at group level; our Hong Kong office has already adopted this international standard and others are set to follow. This is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses.
