19 October 2010
International real estate advisor Savills has expanded its new dedicated portfolio valuation department. Four new team members have joined joint department heads John Rhodes and Claire Magowan, who founded the department six weeks ago.
Adam Whereat, Oliver King and David Speers join from BNP Paribas Real Estate as director, associate director and data analyst respectively. Andrew Innocent joins as a surveyor from Jones Lang LaSalle. They all have extensive experience in valuation for institutional clients.
Mark Ridley, Chairman of Savills Commercial, says: “We now have an excellent core team in place and are in the market building up our client base. It’s a testament to John and Claire’s strong market reputation that they have attracted such high calibre recruits and we look forward to working with this new team.“
Claire Magowan, joint head of portfolio valuation at Savills, says: “We believe these new team members will further strengthen our market position and ensure that clients receive the best advice not only from our immediate team but the wider Savills network, in particular, the existing valuation and investment teams.â€
Until September 2010, Savills firm’s existing valuation business specialised in bank advisory work, both for new lending and workout, some portfolio valuations were undertaken in addition as part of a wider practice. The new department has been set up to take portfolio valuation forward as a specialist area of business to provide a recurring valuation service on behalf of property companies and financial institutions for both accounts and pricing purposes.
